Give Thanks In All Circumstances
Dear Friends,
As Thanksgiving draws near, we are reminded of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” At Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries, our hearts are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support and partnership in this mission. Your generosity reflects Christ’s call to serve, comfort, and uplift those who come to us seeking hope and new beginnings. We could not fulfill this work without you, and we thank God for the compassion and faith you show to those in need.
As we celebrate this season of gratitude, we also want to emphasize the care that goes into serving each person who comes through our doors. Every individual and family we support is carefully vetted by Homeland Security before we welcome them into our community. This ensures that those we serve are genuinely in need of refuge and healing as they seek freedom and a fresh start.
Together, we celebrate three stories of transformation and thanksgiving, each a powerful reminder of the resilience and faith of those we support—and the impact of our shared mission:
1. Elias Gomez: A New Road to Independence
Elias forced to flee El Salvador to secure his life away from turmoil in his home country. With the support provided through this ministry, he received a work permit and a social security number. Elias now steps forward with renewed purpose, ready to build a stable, independent life. His journey is a powerful reminder of the doors God opens when we extend His love to others.
2. Haziel Lozano: A Future Full of Hope
Haziel Lozano escaped religious & political persecution in Cuba, for his faith and stand against communism. Through your generous support, he found safety, support, and a path to stability. With work permit and social security number now in hand, plus passing his drivers license test. He is prepared to begin a new chapter, grateful for the chance to live in a community that embraces and supports him. His story is a reflection of God’s faithfulness and the strength of our mission together.
3. Yosvel & Livia Pereira: New Beginnings in Community
Yosvel and Livia Pereira, fled Cuba due to religious persecution and their stand against the communist government, arrived at Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries with courage and hope for a new life. Through this ministry, they found support. Now, with work permits and social security numbers in hand, they are ready to embrace this new beginning, walking forward in faith and purpose. Their resilience is a testament to God’s care and provision.
Each of these stories represents not only lives changed but also God’s love in action—made possible through your faith and generosity. This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for you, for your kindness, prayers, and dedication to this work. May your Thanksgiving be filled with peace, joy, and the knowledge that your support has made a profound impact on so many lives.
With heartfelt gratitude and blessings this Thanksgiving,
Feliberto Pereira
