Christmas Compassion

Dear Friends,

“I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today… a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)

Rejoice, as God’s love brings us to the end of another year full of blessings. The Advent season reminds us of the joy and peace that is found in the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This year has been another testimony of God’s grace and the love of His people. Together, we have brought hope to those in darkness and shared the joy of Christ through acts of compassion and care.

This season allows us to reflect and be thankful for the support and care of our supporters and contributors. From FCC Lockhart, FCC McKinney, FCC Lubbock, FCC Tyler, UCC Austin, and countless other churches and individuals—your yearly generosity and prayers have been the foundation of our mission. Naming all our supporters would take pages and pages, as your generosity knows no bounds. Together, your care has allowed us to reflect God’s love in action and provide hope to those in need.

By God’s grace, we have had the privilege of helping several individuals and families find hope and stability through the challenging transitions of being processed by Homeland Security. Additionally, many poor families on both sides of the border have been supported and uplifted through our cooperation with partner churches, ensuring they receive the essential care they need.

Our commitment to Casa Bethel Hogar, located in Matamoros, MX, has remained strong since 1996. We continue to support 35 children and the staff who maintain the orphanage. This includes providing clothing, shoes, food, and more, allowing us to reflect Christ’s love in their daily lives.

We are also deeply thankful for the North Texas Area churches and the Mike’s Kids program, which provides vital resources for the most needy and poorest-of-the-poor. Each December, these churches unite to send an 18-wheeler full of food, clothing, toys, and more, allowing us to share these blessings with families in need.

In anticipation of 2025, we are excited to celebrate 40 years of service—a testament to God’s unchanging faithfulness and the power of His people working together. It also marks an important period in my life when God allowed me to escape communist Cuba, Castro’s firing squad, and a spared life sentence in the prison camps. By His grace, He also allowed me to escape with my life and my dearest ones to freedom. This milestone is not just a celebration of what has been accomplished, but a moment to recommit ourselves to the journey ahead. We trust that God will continue to place His work before us, and together, we will embrace His call to serve, uplift, and share His love with all who seek hope.

We invite you to continue walking alongside us in this mission. Whether through prayers, financial support, or volunteering, your partnership allows us to share the transformative love of Christ. Together, we can bring hope and joy to even more lives in the year ahead.

As we celebrate this season of joy and the new life that Christ brings, may His love inspire us to continue walking in faith, spreading hope, and sharing His light with those in need. May the good news of His birth fill your hearts with peace and joy, and may His blessings abound in the coming year.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year,

Feliberto Pereira
