Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As the holiday season embraces us once again, my heart overflows with gratitude for the profound blessings we as Christians enjoy. The love of Jesus is glorious, and it should be embraced with grace and joy. We can reflect Christ in our daily lives, radiating His light and love to others, so that those in darkness can come to know Him as their Savior.

Despite life’s trials, we find joy and gratitude in each day. We had the privilege of helping 417 refugees with essential needs such as clothing, food, medicine, medical care, legal support, transportation, and spiritual assistance. In addition, we pledged to support 35 children at Casa Hogar Betel, an orphanage in Matamoros, Mexico.

Through your firm support, we have been able to provide humanitarian assistance after being processed by ICE, to political asylum seekers. Help is offered on both sides of the border, supporting those in refugee centers with the help of Team Brownsville and La Posada Providencia.

We are happy to share that we have touched the lives of hundreds of people in need. Your support for more than three decades, has been the cornerstone of our efforts. We extend our gratitude to First Christian Church of McKinney and the University Christian Church of Austin, their working groups contributed so much, particularly by assisting with repairs to our buildings.

Thanks to the generosity of the churches and of the individuals who have made it possible for us to carry out our ministry victoriously through their efforts and donations. For example, Bill and Clint of the First Christian Church of Lockhart have made numerous trips, bringing essential clothing and food to those in need. Similarly, Larry Gilliam of the First Christian Church of Tyler has traveled to bring needed supplies such as beans, rice and clothing. The support of the Mike’s Kids N.T.A. program has been a beacon of hope for our children who have been abandoned and families who have been forced to leave their home countries, offering essential items such as clothing, toys, canned goods, furniture, and nutritious food. We are grateful for the financial contributions of Disciples of Christ Churches in the Southwest Region, other churches in our denomination, individual donors, and the National Departments of the Christian Church of (DC).

We welcome the new members of the SWGSM Board of Directors. We are all confident that their talents will be a great addition to our ministry.

May this Christmas season bring you hope, peace, joy, and the abiding love of Christ. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with His grace.

In His Service,

F. Feliberto Pereira
