“NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS FRESNOS, TEXAS:
That the City of Los Fresnos deem is an honor and pleasure to extend to Rev. Feliberto Pereira sincere appreciation for his distinguished humanitarian services and celebrate his recognition on World Humanitarian Day.
APPROVED THIS 6TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2022″
Good evening, Members of the Board of Directors, et al Friends,
With apologies for last-minute communications, it has come to our attention today that our Founder and Executive Director, the Rev. F. Feliberto Pereira, will receive a Proclamation from the City of Los Fresnos tomorrow, September 6th, 2022 at 6:00pm during the City of Los Fresnos Council meeting.
This Proclamation will officially designate that on September 6th, 2022, the City of Los Fresnos recognizes Rev. Pereira for his humanitarian efforts, as also recognized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on World Humanitarian Day, August 19th, 2022.
We understand that the vote, designation and proclamation will be carried forth at the very beginning of the Council Meeting as its first order of business. The Council Meeting is public, and as are all its meetings, will stream live on their YouTube channel. We would love for you to tune in. Please see the links at the bottom of this email.
Additionally, as we look forward to your annual board meeting this October, Eva García and myself will provide updates regarding an in-the-works Open House and Celebration of Rev. Pereira’s humanitarian acknowledgement and recognition planned for this time frame so that all of you–who are such integral parts of the SWGSM family!–are able to attend. We ask that you stay tuned for that.
Have a good evening, God’s blessings to all.
Kindest regards,
Ruthie Pereira
