This Christmas, We Remember that Jesus was a Refugee

Matthew 2: 3-14

In sincere gratitude to our friends, our brothers and sisters, and everyone whose kindness and support has moved us this year, we take this moment to wish you a Merry Christmas and the most blessed of New Year 2020!

We stand in awe and wonder knowing that unto us a child is born, whose name and power changed our destination of sin and death. Emmanuel, (God with us), the image of the invisible God, savior, redeemer, and our salvation. We remember the early days of newborn Jesus when the enemy stood against him by influencing king Herod to murder him. Mary and Joseph then went off on a long quest for safety to Egypt from Jesus’ birthplace Bethlehem. We see a similar scene these days when people are forced to leave their homelands due to oppression, persecution and violence looking for freedom and safety. However, we have seen a radical change in the way refugees are no longer welcomed to begin a new and safe life, wondering what would have happened if Jesus had been denied an entry to Egypt. In our ministry, we seek to welcome everyone as Jesus has welcomed us, remembering in Ephesians 2:19 that we are “no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household”.

With God’s hand and your help, we have been able to aid more than 530 refugees this year with food, shelter, legal fees, transportation, clothing, and medical aid. Besides this, we have provided many other resources to an orphanage in Mexico, a clinic specially made for those in need, hygiene utensils, food, and clothing for more than 1000+ immigrants that are being held in the Mexico side living in tents with terrible conditions waiting on a court date. Coming up on Christmas, we will be delivering gifts on both sides of the border for refugees and the ones in need.

We are profoundly and forever thankful for all your support this year, reminding you that through every donation and contribution you have made to “the least of these”, you have welcomed Jesus himself. Congratulations to you for making a difference in the world and letting your light so shine among the most needed.  ¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!
