Mike's Kids

Mike's Kids is an annual Christmas toy drive for poor and abandoned children on both sides of the border. The program has become a national model. The Mike’s Kids program was founded by a young man with a big heart named Mike Slaight. After Mike died of a sudden brain aneurism, his family was committed to continuing the program with the help of
hundreds of volunteers from many denominations who collect and pack thousands of items of clothing and toys from the North Texas area each year. An 18 wheel truck with more than 1,600 boxes delivers new and gently-used clothes and toys, which are distributed to poor and abandoned children across the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Visit the Mike's Kids Web site to learn more.

Order  Feliberto's Memoir:
I Was A Stranger

Seeing the face of the God of Jesus in the face and the journey of each of these brothers and sisters--the least of these--makes us feel like we are always in touch with the anguish of the cross but also with the hope of the resurrection.
